Interests: "So we see the earliest forms of various pagan religionswere really derivations away From the One God, Jehovah. - Their doctrines concerning the One God were obviously lacking specific truths as they had departed somewhat from true faith. The more that people crept away from faith in God the more elaborate the concoctions became regarding their view of God, until a "trinity" of three persons was invented." - source - The Pagan Influence Upon the Development of the Doctrine of the Trinity -Michael F Blume -----"Pope Gregory...advised Saint Augustine to allow hisconverts certain festivals... as formerly they had done this in honor of the devil...Saint Augustine...permitted their usual December celebration under the new name...From these early pagan...ceremonies are derived many of the English holiday customs that have survived to our day."- The Evolution of Christmas; Published in 1909
Expertise: "The doctrine that Jesus Christ the Son of Godwas God the son was decreed by worldly and ecclesiastical powers. Men were forced to accept it at the point of the sword or else, Thus, the error of the trinity was propounded to the end that ultimately people believed it to be the truth. Thus Christianity became in essence like Babylonian heathenism, with only a veneer of Christian names." - SOURCE - --- Forgers of the Word -1983 Victor Paul Wierwille ----- "...the customs now associated with Christmas go back thousands of years to a time when the people of Europe worshipped pagan gods."- Compton's Encyclopedia

The "Dual" - GodHead
Was  Invented

JEHOVAH GOD WAS TRADED FOR THE POPULAR DUAL GODHEAD OF PAGAN ROME 2

The "Dual" - GodHead
Was  Invented

The Earliest of Christians worshipped the same God,
that Christ did.  They were Jews and they worshipped
the Jewish God, Jehovah.  This was the norm, until
Rome decided to take over and make Christianity
into a State Religion.
`
With an obvious Hatred of the Jews and their
Jewish God, Rome decided to fashion God into their
own framework.  Thus the "Trinity" and the "Dual
Godhead" - became the most popular way to represent
God at that time.  These views were purely pagan,
and meant to satisfy the pagan populace that was
a large part of the Roman Empire at that time.
`
So, the Jewish God, Jehovah, was replaced with
pagan gods and pagan ideas.  Anyone who questioned
or refused to accept these new views of God, were
tortured, and put to death.
`
In time, Jehovah was forgotten.  His name was
removed from Bible manuscripts and the generic
"LORD" title was put in its place.
`
These times of ignorance are over.  It is Jehovah's
time - to make himself known throughout all the earth.
Pagan Rome is gone - and the truth will be made known.

"Early Christians, facing scorn
and persecution decided to blend in
with their Pagan counterparts...
in order to blend in. The idea of
the holy trinity too, was an adopted
way to appeal to pagans."
-UNRV HISTORY

Spread of Christianity

"Christianity ultimately became the
highest embodiment of...The religion and
philosophy of the ancient pagan world."
E. Belfort Bax
The Decay of Pagan Thought

"In the past God overlooked such ignorance,
but now he commands all people everywhere
to repent. - For he has set a day when he will
judge the world with justice by the man he has
appointed.   He has given proof of this to all
men  by raising him from the dead."

Christ's Viewpoint of God

"Jesus’ view of who and what God is,
and the view of the apostles,
retains the clear monotheism
of the Old Testament."
--Christian Monotheism: Reality or Illusion?

"To one who would flatter him
with the title “Good Teacher”
Jesus countered, “Why do you call me good?
No one is good — except God alone”
(Mark 10:18, NIV)."
--Christian Monotheism: Reality or Illusion?
by William Wachtel
Volume 1, Issue 1 (Fall 1992)

"The Lord Jesus uniformly represented Himself
as performing all His acts...in the most perfect
subserviency to the will of His Father,
and in full dependence upon Him;
and this fact He stated in a variety of expressions,
and on different occasions, so as to manifest and
to impress it deeply on His followers."
-Dr. J. Pye Smith,
Scripture Testimony to the Messiah,
 vol. ii., p. 300.

Jesus said, "...but the world must learn
that I love the Father
and that I do exactly what my
Father has commanded me."
(John 14:31)(NIV)-BibleGateway

"while Jesus was on earth,
he begged God with loud crying
and tears to save him....
HE truly worshiped God,
and God listened to his prayers...
he had to suffer before he could learn
what it really means to obey God. "

The Apostles' Viewpoint of God

"Paul affirms that , “There is one God,
and one mediator between God and men,
the man Christ Jesus” (1 Tim. 2:5).
Paul sees Christ as The mediator,
who is a man.  Paul writes about God Himself
as clearly distinguished from this man,
the Lord Jesus Christ. The Father is truly
seen by Paul as the one and only God,
distinct and unequaled, forever supreme
(cf. 1 Cor. 15:24-28). This is Paul’s
Christian monotheism, as strict and pure
as any monotheism could be."
--Christian Monotheism: Reality or Illusion?
by William Wachtel
Volume 1, Issue 1 (Fall 1992)

"The Apostle Peter speaks of “the God and Father
of our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Pet. 1:3),
acknowledging the one whom Jesus called
“my God” (Matt. 27:46; John 20:17)."
--Christian Monotheism: Reality or Illusion?
by William Wachtel
Volume 1, Issue 1 (Fall 1992)

"The God of the Old Testament
is also the God of the New.Testament.
Christ and the apostles accepted
what Moses and the prophets had taught
concerning God; they assigned to Him
no other attributes than had already
been assigned to Him."

Monotheism
The Earliest Christians Beliefs

"Up until the end of the second century
the universal Church remained united
in one basic sense;  they all accepted
the supremacy of the Father.
They all regarded God the Father Almighty
as alone supreme, immutable, ineffable
and without beginning. . . "

"Jesus' teachings are exclusively within Jewish
values and teachings. Modern Christianity . . .
does not adhere to many of Jesus' original teachings.
Early Christianity was an integral part of Judaism
of the period. Jesus . . . never intended to either
abandon Judaism, or to create a new religion.
The creation of the independent Christian Church
outside the framework of Judaism took place many
years later by those who neither knew the man Jesus,
nor the meanings of His difficult native Hebrew."
-- Opher Segal, YD, vol. 5, no. 6.

"The God and Father is superior to his son.....
and the Son,  being less than the Father,
and is second to the Father.
So that in this way the power of the Father
is greater than that of the Son...."

Defining Jesus in Pagan Terms

Both the Double and Triune godhead was very
popular amongst the pagans - at the time that Rome
took over control of Christianity, therefore during the
councils that followed - Jesus was redefined in pagan
terms - as a second and equal part of the godhead.

Prior to this, all Christians had been monotheistic
worshippers of the Jewish God, Jehovah.

"the conception of God is Jewish in its origin,
but into it has been read and impressed the
spirit and character of Rome.  Indeed, Rome has
modified and influenced our concept of God."

TRUE  PROPHETS  IN  THE  LAST  DAYS

PROPHETS IN THE LAST DAYS

TRUE  PROPHETS  IN  THE  LAST  DAYS

Although the Bible warns us about False prophets,
it also tells us that there will be True prophets in
these last days.  Yes, Jehovah God will pick out
certain people to relay his messages, and he will
also cause some of his people to "Dream" dreams.

"...I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your old men will dream dreams,
your young men will see visions.
Even on my servants, both men and women,
I will pour out my Spirit in those days."
(Joel 2:28,29)(NIV)-BibleGateway

"AND IT SHALL BE IN THE LAST DAYS,’
God says, ‘THAT I WILL POUR FORTH OF
MY SPIRIT ON ALL MANKIND; AND YOUR
SONS AND YOUR DAUGHTERS SHALL PROPHESY,
AND YOUR YOUNG MEN SHALL SEE VISIONS,
AND YOUR OLD MEN SHALL DREAM DREAMS;
EVEN ON MY BONDSLAVES,
BOTH MEN AND WOMEN,
I WILL IN THOSE DAYS POUR FORTH OF
MY SPIRIT And they shall prophesy."
(Acts 2:17,18)(NASB)-BibleGateway

...................

"For God does speak—now one way,
 now another...In a dream, in a vision
of the night, when deep sleep falls
on people    as they slumber in their
beds, he may speak in their ears..."
(Job 3:14-15)(NIV)-BibleGateway

"Indeed God speaks...In a dream,
a vision of the night, When sound sleep
falls on men, While they slumber in
their beds, Then He opens the ears
of men, And seals their instruction..."
(Job 3:14-16)(NASB)-BibleGateway

To some, Jehovah spoke directly;
while to others - he spoke by means
of a vision or dream. And to some
he spoke by means of mental images,
and through thoughts that he placed
into their minds.

"After these things
the word of Jehovah
came unto Abram in a vision...."
(Genesis 15:1)(ASV)-BibleGateway

"And he said, Hear now my words:
if there be a prophet among you,
I Jehovah will make myself known
unto him in a vision, I will speak
with him in a dream."
(Numbers 12:6)(ASV)-BibleGateway

"Now a thing was secretly brought
to me, and mine ear received a
whisper thereof..."
(Job 4:12,14)(ASV)-BibleGateway

JEHOVAH GIVES MESSAGES TO BOTH
MEN  AND  WOMEN -  IN  THE  PAST
AND  ALSO  IN  THE  LAST  DAYS.

In the past, Jehovah God, chose certain
people on earth, to give his messages to.
Most of the time, he used men but now and
then, he also spoke to women.

God not only spoke to Moses, but he also
spoke to Moses' sister, Miriam.

"And Jehovah spake suddenly unto Moses,
 and unto Aaron, and unto Miriam..."
(Numbers 12:4)(ASV)-BibleGateway

In addition to the Baptist,
the NT also refers to a prophetic
ministry exercised by both men
and women.

After Pentecost, mention is made
of Agabus (Acts 2:28; 21:10), Jude
and Silas (Acts 15:32), and the four
daughters of Philip (Acts 21:8-10).
We might also cite Anna the daughter
of Phanuel (Luke 2:36).

According to Judaism, the prophet is
an individual chosen by God, often
against his will, to reveal God's
intentions and plans to the people.

As a bearer of divine revelation,
he often experiences God's overwhelming
presence and receives the strength
to communicate to others what God has
said even though this may lead to
persecution, suffering and rejection.

Today, mankind waits for the fulfillment
of other prophecies concerning the second
return of Christ, and his conquering
evil and his world-wide rule of mankind.

"This is the marvel of a prophet's work :
in his words the invisible God becomes
audible. He does not prove or argue."
--Abraham Heschel,
*The Prophets* (Harper, 1962).

FEMALE  PROPHETS

The Bible refers to a number of prophetesses.
Moses considered his sister Miriam to be
a prophetess (Ex. 15:20, 21). Standing by his
side from his earliest years, she was a
faithful spokesperson for God.  Through the
centuries, Israel highly regarded her and
included her as one of the three “sent
before you” in the founding of the Israelite
nation after the Exodus (Micah 6:4).

The woman, Deborah, was not only a judge,
but she was the only judge who was also
called a prophetess (Judges 4:4).
She was so compelling a spiritual leader
that when Barak, her general, was asked
to lead an army against the oppressive
Canaanites, he would not go without her.
Israel had recognized her spiritual
leadership, and Barak wanted the nation
to know that what he had been asked to
do was a call from their spiritual leader.
Deborah.

Deborah’s record as a faithful judge was
so convincing that her counsel regarding
what appeared to be an impossible venture
was accepted as the will of God. She spoke
the word of the Lord with authority, and put
her own life on the line as she led her
countrymen by voice and example into the
future.

Other women throughout history have carried
the heavy weight of prophetic responsibility.
Clearly, gender is not an issue when God
selects a person to speak for Him.

Huldah was a prophetess. (2 Kings 22:13).
So where did the priest and chief counselors
go for advice?  To “Huldah the prophetess,
the wife of Shallum” (vs. 14).

Jeremiah had been living in Jerusalem for
five years (compare 2 Kings 22:3 and Jer. 1:2),
but it was to Huldah they went for spiritual
guidance!

Whatever the reason, Huldah had earned
the respect and confidence of her
contemporaries. When they wanted a word
from Jehovah, they turned to her. She
helped them to understand more clearly
the meaning of the writings of Moses.
She illuminated the written Word and
made specific predictions. Her Biblical
insights and predictions were accepted
as divinely inspired.

Joseph and Mary took the infant Jesus to
the Temple for dedication (see Luke 2).
Also in the temple that day was Anna,
a prophetess (vs. 36) who recognized the
baby Jesus as the Messiah. Because of her
clear understanding of the Scriptures,
she understood the importance of this
child.” (vs. 38).

The Biblical picture of God’s communication
system includes both men and women. Though
mentioned less often than men, women
prophetesses were recognized by their
contemporaries as genuine messengers
of Jehovah God.  They illuminated the
Scriptures, counseled leaders, and made
significant predictions.

IN  THE  "LAST DAYS"
JEHOVAH  WILL  USE  PROPHETS

"And after that it must occur that I
shall pour out my spirit on every sort
of flesh, and YOUR sons and YOUR
daughters will certainly prophesy..."
(Joel 2:28)(NWT)(New World Translation)

"...this is what was said
through the prophet Joel,
And in the last days, God says,
“I shall pour out some of my spirit
upon every sort of flesh,
and your sons and
 your daughters will prophesy
and your young men will see visions
and your old men will dream dreams;
and even upon my men slaves
and upon my women slaves
I will pour out some of my spirit
in those days, and they will
prophesy."
(Acts 2:17,18)(NWT)

`
THE  PROPHETS  OF  JEHOVAH

WHO  WERE  THEY ?

In the Old Testament of the Bible, the prophets were
a succession of men whose inspired utterances molded
the shape of Israelite history.

The customary classification of the prophetical books
of the Bible into Major Prophets (Isaiah, Jeremiah, and
Ezekiel) and Minor Prophets (Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah,
Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai,
Zechariah, and Malachi) is based on the length of the
books.

Chronologically, the prophets may be divided into
four groups:
(1) Amos, Hosea, Micah, and Isaiah,
active in the 8th century BC;

(2) Nahum, Zephaniah, Habakkuk, and Jeremiah,
(late 7th to early 6th century);

(3) Ezekiel and Second Isaiah,
exilic period;

(4) the postexilic prophets.

The prophetic tradition, however, goes back at least
as far as Samuel and includes such early figures as
Elijah and Elisha.

All together the Old Testament prophets voiced a
particular way of looking at history and world events.

They spoke as the mouthpieces of God, addressing his
people and revealing to them his divine plan.

They relate the address of God to his people through
the processes of history. In admonishing the Israelites,
calling them to repentance and redemption, the prophets
stressed monotheism, morality, and messianism--themes
carried forward into Christianity.

A prophet is a spokesman for God.

Old Testament prophets were not interpreters of God's
will; they uttered the actual words which God gave them.

The word "prophet" comes from the Greek prophetes,
from pro ("before" or "for") and phemi ("to speak").

The originality of biblical prophecy derives from
the phenomenon of divine inspiration.

The biblical prophet is not a magician.
He does not force God. On the contrary, he is
under divine constraint. It is God who invites,
summons, and impels him, e.g., Jer. 20:7.

The writing prophets of the OT are well known.
They are usually divided into the four major
(Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Daniel)
 and the twelve minor
(Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum,
Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachi)
according to the length of their writings.

In addition there were many other prophets.
Moses, who wrote the law of God, was regarded as
a prophet without equal (Deut. 34:10-12).

Prophetic voices were also raised in the days of the
judges (Judg. 2:1-5; 3:9-11; 4:4; 6:8; I Sam. 3:1).

 Samuel came as a second Moses (Jer. 15:1; Ps. 99:6),
and his work was continued by Gad and Nathan
(II Sam. 12 and 24; I Kings 1).

After the separation of the ten tribes Ahijah
(I Kings 2), Elijah, and Elisha (I Kings 18-19;
II Kings 5ff.) call for particular mention.

After four centuries of prophetic silence,
John the Baptist is the last of the prophets
of the old covenant and the precursor of Jesus
(Matt. 19:1; cf. Matt. 3:7ff.; Luke 3:16ff.;
John 1:23, 29).

In addition to the Baptist, the NT also refers to
a prophetic ministry exercised by both men and women.

After Pentecost, mention is made of Agabus
(Acts 2:28; 21:10), Jude and Silas (Acts 15:32),
and the four daughters of Philip (Acts 21:8-10).
We might also cite Anna the daughter of Phanuel
(Luke 2:36).

Prophecy was elevated to an unprecedented religious
significance in Judaism and Christianity.

According to Judaism, the prophet is an individual
chosen by God, often against his will, to reveal
God's intentions and plans to the people.

As a bearer of divine revelation, he often experiences
God's overwhelming presence and receives the strength
to communicate to others what God has said, even though
this may lead to persecution, suffering, and death.

Christianity inherited the idea of prophecy from
Judaism, and Christians interpret Hebrew writings
in light of the teachings of Christ, who is considered
the prophet promised in Deuteronomy.

Indeed, in many respects Jesus was a typical Judaic
prophet. Prophecy was recognized as a gift in apostolic
times, but it gradually disappeared as the hierarchical
structure of the church began to develop toward the end
of the 1st century..."

Prophecy has been the subject of much debate among
scholars, whose discussion has often centered on the
question of whether or not prophecy derives from some
force external to the prophet.

One tendency is to view prophecy as an essentially
subconscious psychological phenomenon... Another
theory also relates prophecy to the subconscious mind,
but ultimately traces it to the workings of God.

Some historians of religion regard the true prophet
as one who, like the mystic, is raised to a supranormal
psychological state by divine intervention.

Prophecy, or prediction, was one of the functions of
the prophet. It has been defined as a "miracle of
knowledge, a declaration or description or representation
of something future, beyond the power of human sagacity
to foresee, discern, or conjecture."

The great prediction which runs like a golden thread
through the whole contents of the Old Testament is
that regarding the coming and work of the Messiah;
and the great use of prophecy was to perpetuate faith
in his coming, and to prepare the world for that event.

Today, mankind waits for the fulfillment of other prophecies
concerning the second return of Christ, and his conquering
evil and his world-wide rule of mankind.

But there are many subordinate and intermediate
prophecies also which hold an important place in the
great chain of events which illustrate the sovereignty
and all-wise overruling providence of God.

What is Prophecy ?

"The words the prophet utters are not offered as
souvenirs. The prophet not only conveys; he reveals.
He almost does unto others what God does unto him.
In speaking, the prophet reveals God. This is the marvel
of a prophet's work : in his words the invisible God
becomes audible. He does not prove or argue. The thought
he has to convey is more than language can contain.
Divine power bursts in the words. The authority of the
prophet is in the Presence his words reveal."
--Abraham Heschel, *The Prophets* (Harper, 1962).

Prophecy is the proclamation of a message revealed by
the Holy Spirit, suited to the specific needs of the
moment, in the language of those who hear it.

Many of the prophets spent a good deal of their time
giving messages of encouragement and comfort to those
who were following the Lord. Some wrote books, and likely
also songs, some of which are mentioned but are otherwise
unknown today.

The Old Testament prophets spoke within the context of
their tradition, using the rich oral and written poetry
and stories which were the common heritage of the
Israelites over the milleniums since Abraham, the stuff
from which our Old Testament histories and writings were
made. Some of the prophets were highly-skilled wordsmiths
(Habakkuk, for example) and were even first class poets
(Isaiah, for example).

To be prophecy in the classic sense, the message must be
from God, bearing the effectiveness of the Spirit, and
bearing a piece of God's burden over us. It is usually
(though not always) directed toward God's people. What
we do with the message is our own responsibility.

The prophets did not see themselves as important.
More important were God the Speaker, the message,
and those whom the message was for. And the prophet's
job was to serve the Speaker(Jehovah God).

The true prophet is not there to predict events, but to
accomplish a bigger purpose : to bring the covenant people
more into line with God's will. In point of fact, many of
the harshest prophecies of the true Biblical prophets
did not come to pass at all. The prophecy was told so
that people would change their ways. The people heard the
prophecy, and with true faith begged God not to let it
come about. And it did not come about. The clearest
example of this pattern is in the book of Jonah.
Jonah prophesied (without promise of retraction!), and
the Ninevites turned to God, the calamity was then
withdrawn. The truth here : Jehovah loves it when people
are transformed.

A prophecy can come as a dream, or by painstaking writing,
as an inner impression or a vision, or may even take off
from an earlier passage of Scripture. God is using the
prophet to communicate what is most important for a
specific place and time and situation, all of which are
at hand.

The prophet gives the message a literary or oratory shape,
but the prophet doesn't create the message itself. That
comes from the One who spoke through the prophets. It
might have meaning for another time, but it always had
meaning for its own time.

It's a fine line between the main task of an angel and
the task of a prophet.  Christians are all given the
charge of spreading the good news to others, so in a way
every Christian is a 'messenger', a mal'ak . Not an angel
in the sense of a divine being, but an envoy who bears
good news from God.

God speaks to us all through His word.

People to whom God speaks directly, by putting the words
directly in their head, are called prophets.

Although God used many methods, the “prophet” was the most
recognized form of divine communication. Priests in Israel
were the people’s representatives before God; the prophets
were God’s official representatives before His people.
The priest’s calling was hereditary; the prophet was
specifically called by God.

Prophets have been the most visible channel in God’s
communication system. “Surely the Lord Jehovah does
nothing, unless He reveals His secret to His servants
the prophets”
(Amos 3:7)

As representatives of the Lord, prophets showed the
people that God valued human beings enough to choose
from among them men and women to represent Him.

The prophet’s work was twofold: to receive the divine
message and to deliver that message faithfully.

Prophets clearly recognize the presence and power of
the Holy Spirit in their role as God’s messengers.
Peter well understood this relationship: “Prophecy never
came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as
they were moved by the Holy Spirit” (2 Pet. 1:21).

Note Saul’s experience: “When they came there to the hill,
there was a group of prophets to meet him; then the Spirit
of God came upon him [Saul], and he prophesied among them”
(1 Sam. 10:10).

God Is Gender Blind

FEMALE  PROPHETS

The Bible refers to a number of prophetesses.
Moses considered his sister Miriam a prophetess
(Ex. 15:20, 21). Standing by his side from his
earliest years, she was a faithful spokesperson for God.
Through the centuries, Israel highly regarded her and
included her as one of the three “sent before you”
in the founding of the Israelite nation after the
Exodus (Micah 6:4).

Deborah was not only a judge, she was the only judge
who was also called a prophetess (Judges 4:4).
She was so compelling a spiritual leader that when
Barak, her general, was asked to lead an army against
the oppressive Canaanites, he would not go without her.
Israel had recognized her spiritual leadership, and Barak
wanted the nation to know that what he had been asked to
do was a call from their spiritual leader.

Deborah’s record as a faithful judge was so convincing
that her counsel regarding what appeared to be an
impossible venture was accepted as the will of God.
She spoke the word of the Lord with authority, and put
her own life on the line as she led her countrymen by
voice and example into the future.

Other women throughout history have carried the heavy
weight of prophetic responsibility. Clearly, gender is
not an issue when God selects a person to speak for Him.

Huldah was a prophetess. (2 Kings 22:13). So where did
the priest and chief counselors go? To “Huldah the
prophetess, the wife of Shallum” (vs. 14). Jeremiah had
been living in Jerusalem for five years (compare 2 Kings
22:3 and Jer. 1:2), but it was to Huldah they went for
spiritual guidance!

Whatever the reason, Huldah had earned the respect and
confidence of her contemporaries. When they wanted a word
from Jehovah, they turned to her. She helped them to
understand more clearly the meaning of the writings of
Moses. She illuminated the written Word and made specific
predictions. Her Biblical insights and predictions were
accepted as divinely inspired.

Joseph and Mary took the infant Jesus to the Temple
for dedication (see Luke 2). Also in the temple that
day was Anna, a prophetess (vs. 36) who recognized
the baby Jesus as the Messiah. Because of her clear
understanding of the Scriptures, she understood the
importance of this child.” (vs. 38).

The Biblical picture of God’s communication system
includes both men and women. Though mentioned less
often than men, women prophetesses were recognized by
their contemporaries as genuine messengers of the Lord.
They illuminated the Scriptures, counseled leaders,
and made significant predictions.

Jehovah Warned -
Even His Prophets

When Jehovah gave his words to a prophet,
they were warned not to add to nor take away
from the words that he spoke to them.

"Ye shall not add unto the word
which I command you,
 neither shall ye diminish from it,
 that ye may keep the commandments
 of Jehovah your God
which I command you."
(Deuteronomy 4:2)(ASV)-BibleGateway

WHAT WAS THE PURPOSE OF JEHOVAH
IN GIVING HIS WORDS TO HIS "PROPHETS" ?

Evidently Jehovah chose men of faithfulness
to direct his people, and to give warnings,
as well as instructions.

"Son of man,
I have made thee a watchman
unto the house of Israel:
 therefore hear the word at my mouth,
and give them warning from me."
(Ezekiel 3:17 )(ASV)-BibleGateway

"And he said unto them,
 Lodge here this night,
 and I will bring you word again,
 as Jehovah shall speak unto me"
(Numbers 22:8)(ASV)-BibleGateway

"And Moses came and called for
the elders of the people,
and set before them
all these words
 which Jehovah commanded him."
(Exodus 19:7)(ASV)-BibleGateway

"And Moses assembled all the congregation
 of the children of Israel,
 and said unto them,
 These are the words which Jehovah hath commanded,
 that ye should do them."
(Exodus 35:1)(ASV)-BibleGateway

Did anybody else, besides the Prophets
hear the words of Jehovah - so as to know
that the Prophets were telling the truth ?

Yes, as a matter of fact, there were many
times, when Jehovah allowed his words to be
heard - as a witness to his Prophet's credibility.

"And Jehovah said unto Moses,
 Lo, I come unto thee in a thick cloud,
that the people may hear
 when I speak with thee,
and may also believe thee for ever."
(Exodus 19:19)(ASV)-BibleGateway

How did God's people feel about the words
shared with them through his Prophets ?

"And Moses came and told the people
 all the words of Jehovah,
 and all the ordinances:
and all the people answered with one voice,
 and said,
 All the words which Jehovah hath spoken
 will we do."
(Exodus 24:3)(ASV)-BibleGateway

Did Jehovah's prophets keep records of the words
that he spoke to them?

Yes.

"And Moses wrote all the words of Jehovah...."
(Exodus 24:4)(ASV)-BibleGateway

"And Jehovah said unto Moses,
 Write thou these words:
 for after the tenor of these words
 I have made a covenant with thee and with Israel."
(Exodus 34:27)(ASV)-BibleGateway

"And he was there with Jehovah
 forty days and forty nights;
he did neither eat bread, nor drink water.
And he wrote upon the tables
the words of the covenant..."
(Exodus 34:28)(ASV)-BibleGateway

"And Joshua wrote these words
 in the book of the law of God..."
(Joshua 24:26)(ASV)-BibleGateway

"All these events happened to them
 as examples for us.
 They were written down to warn us,
 who live at the time when this age
 is drawing to a close."
(1Corinthians 10:11)(NLT)-BibleGateway

How did Jehovah convey his words
to the prophets of old ?

By means of his "Holy Spirit".

"The Spirit of Jehovah spake by me,
 And his word was upon my tongue."
(2Samuel 23:2)(ASV)-BibleGateway

"You spoke by the Holy Spirit
 through the mouth of your servant,
 our father David.."
(Acts 4:25)(NIV)-BibleGateway

"The Holy Spirit spoke the truth
 to your forefathers
when he said through Isaiah the prophet..."
(Acts 28:25)(NIV)-BibleGateway

"For prophecy never had its origin
in the will of man,
 but men spoke from God
as they were carried along
 by the Holy Spirit."
(2Peter 1:21)(NIV)-BibleGateway

What about today ?

Does Jehovah's word come thru prophets still ?

Not until the "Time of the End" - will Jehovah again
use prophets.

IN  THE  "LAST DAY"
JEHOVAH  WILL  USE  PROPHETS

"And after that it must occur that I shall pour
out my spirit on every sort of flesh, and YOUR sons
and YOUR daughters will certainly prophesy...."
(Joel 2:28)(NWT)(New World Translation)

"...this is what was said
through the prophet Joel,
And in the last days, God says,
“I shall pour out some of my spirit
upon every sort of flesh,
and your sons and
 your daughters will prophesy
and your young men will see visions
and your old men will dream dreams;
and even upon my men slaves
and upon my women slaves
I will pour out some of my spirit in those
days, and they will prophesy."
(Acts 2:17,18)(NWT)

The words of the Prophets were recorded
for our instruction.

However, Jehovah's word was revealed to us
 in later times, by means of his son.

"In the past God spoke to our forefathers
 through the prophets
 at many times and in various ways,
 but in these last days
 he has spoken to us by his Son..."
(Hebrews 1:1,2)(NIV)-BibleGateway

In prayer to his Father, Jehovah God -
Jesus reminds us that he was entrusted
with the word of God - to share with mankind.

"Jesus spoke these things;
and lifting up His eyes to heaven,
 He said.......'Father...
'..... the words which You gave Me
 I have given to them;
and they received them
and truly understood that
 I came forth from You,
 and they believed that You sent Me.' "
(John 17:1,8)(NASB)-BibleGateway

With all the words of the Prophets recorded
in the "Old Testament" and all the words of His
son, recorded in the "New Testament";
today, we have a fine collection of Jehovah's words.

"All Scripture is inspired by God
and is useful to teach us
what is true
and to make us realize
what is wrong in our lives.
It straightens us out
and teaches us to do what is right."
(2Timothy 3:16)(NLT)-BibleGateway

As Christians - how can we know what words
of the prophets - were indeed from Jehovah himself ?

If Jesus quoted from a prophet -
then we know that Prophet was inspired by
his heavenly father, Jehovah God.

For example :

When Jesus was tempted by Satan the Devil;
Jesus used a scripture recorded in Deuteronomy
as an apt reply to him.  Jesus thus gave
authenticity to the words of Jehovah - as
recorded by the prophets of old.

"But He answered and said,
"It is written, '[Deut 8:3]
MAN SHALL NOT LIVE ON BREAD ALONE,
 BUT ON EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS
OUT OF THE MOUTH OF (JEHOVAH) GOD.'"
(Matthew 4:4)(NASB)-BibleGateway

Jesus quoted here from (Deut 8:3)

"... man doth not live by bread only,
 but by everything that proceedeth
 out of the mouth of Jehovah..."
(Deuteronomy 8:3)(ASV)-BibleGateway

What happens to people who ignore or reject
the words of Jehovah?

"The wise men are put to shame,
 they are dismayed and taken:
lo, they have rejected the word of Jehovah;
and what manner of wisdom is in them?"
(Jeremiah 8:9)(ASV)-BibleGateway

Jesus himself warned :

"Thus you nullify (make void)
 the word of God
by your tradition
that you have handed down."
(Mark 7:13)(NIV)-BibleGateway

"They exchanged the truth of God for a lie,
 and worshiped and served created things
 rather than the Creator.....
Because of this,
God gave them over to shameful lusts.
Even their women exchanged natural relations
 for unnatural ones.
 In the same way the men also
abandoned natural relations with women
 and were inflamed with lust for one another.
 Men committed indecent acts with other men,
 and received in themselves
 the due penalty for their perversion.
Furthermore,
since they did not think it worthwhile
 to retain the knowledge of God,
 he gave them over to a depraved mind,
 to do what ought not to be done.
They have become filled
with every kind of wickedness,
evil, greed and depravity.
They are full of envy, murder, strife,
 deceit and malice.
They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters,
 insolent, arrogant and boastful;
they invent ways of doing evil;
 they disobey their parents;
they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless.
Although they know God's righteous decree
 that those who do such things deserve death,
 they not only continue to do these very things
 but also approve of those who practice them."
(Romans 1:25-32)(NIV)-BibleGateway

These very conditions are described
as the "Last Days".

"But mark this:
There will be terrible times in the last days.
 People will be lovers of themselves,
 lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive,
 disobedient to their parents,
ungrateful, unholy, without love,
unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control,
 brutal, not lovers of the good,
treacherous, rash, conceited,
lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God--
having a form of godliness but denying its power."
(2Timothy 3:1-5)(NIV)-BibleGateway

With the removing of the name of the Bible's author;
Jehovah God; mankind is now hungering and thirsting
for Jehovah's words -
which in all reality;
are no longer found anywhere in the Bible.

Yes by removing the name of Almighty God, Jehovah
and replacing it with titles such as "LORD" and "GOD",
mankind has in effect made Jehovah God "voiceless".

Having his name erased, almost seven thousand times,
leaves mankind hungering and thirsting
 for the words of Jehovah God.

Jehovah knew in advance that mankind would do this,
and had this prophecy recorded :

"Behold, the days come,
saith the Lord Jehovah,
that I will send a famine in the land,
not a famine of bread,
nor a thirst for water,
 but of hearing the words of Jehovah."
(Amos 8:11)(ASV)-BibleGateway

DEATH  IS  AN  ENEMY

Visit ResurrectionHope's Xanga Site

DEATH IS AN ENEMY

Death is an enemy
of the whole human race
it robs us of loved ones
that we can't replace.

It pulls at our heartstrings
in sorrow we cry
it leaves us in anguish
as we wonder why

Why did they leave us
when we needed them so?
why did God take them?
we really must know

I'll  look to the Bible
God's letter to men
To find all the answers
to help my heart mend.

It says that my loved one
is  sleeping  - at  rest
His memory is held close
in God's tender  breast

Although some are chosen
by God up above
to Join in Christ's Kingdom
to rule us with love

He has other sheep
which he also must bring
to live on the earth
with Christ as their king.

When the time is just right
For His Son's plaintive voice
the dead will arise
the earth will  rejoice

Awoken from sleep
from the grave of mankind
no memory of pain
or  the passing of time

Brought back to the earth
a paradise of pleasure
where no one grows old
to live there forever

Where peace is abundant
and life's filled with joy
wild animals are led
by an innocent boy

When the whole earth is ruled
By God's precious son
His will as in  heaven
on earth shall be done

~~~~~~~
"May your Kingdom come soon.
May your will be done here on earth,
just as it is in heaven."
(Matthew 6:10)(NLT)-BibleGateway
"The living at least know they will die,
but the dead know nothing...."
(Ecclesiastes 9:5)(NLT)-BibleGateway
"Jesus answered,.......
"Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep;
but I am going there to wake him up."
His disciples replied,
"Lord, if he sleeps, he will get better."
Jesus had been speaking of his death,
but his disciples thought he meant
natural sleep."
(John 11:9-13) (NIV)-BibleGateway
"Do not be afraid, little flock,
for your Father has been pleased
to give you the kingdom."
(Luke 12:32) (NIV)-BibleGateway
"I have other sheep,
which are not of this fold;
I must bring them also,
and they will hear My voice;
and they will become one flock
with one shepherd."
(John 10:16) (NASB)-BibleGateway
There are therefore two resurrections.
The first resurrection
is to heavenly life - as part of the Kingdom,
to rule with Christ over the earth.
The second resurrection
is the general resurrection
of all the other dead,
who may live forever on a paradise earth,
under the kingdom rule of Christ
and his "little flock".
"I saw thrones on which were seated
those who had been given authority to judge...
They came to life and reigned with Christ
a thousand years.
The rest of the dead
did not come to life
until the thousand years were ended.
This is the first resurrection.
Blessed and holy are those
who have part in the first resurrection...
they will be priests of God and of Christ
and will reign with him for a thousand years."
(Revelation 20:4-6)(NIV)-BibleGateway
"and He has made us to be a kingdom,
priests to His God and Father..."
(Revelation 1:6)(NASB)-BibleGateway
"... for You were slain (sacrificed),
and with Your blood
You purchased men unto God
from every tribe and language
and people and nation.
And You have made them a kingdom (royal race)
and priests to our God,
and they shall reign [as kings] over the earth!
(Revelation 5:9,10)(AMP)-BibleGateway
"But the meek
in the end
shall inherit the earth
and shall delight themselves
in the abundance of peace.
Then the consistently righteous
shall inherit the land
and dwell upon it forever."
(Psalm 37:11,29)(AMP)-BibleGateway
"He hath swallowed up death for ever;
and the Lord Jehovah will wipe away tears
from off all faces;
and the reproach of his people
will he take away from off all the earth:
for Jehovah hath spoken it."
(Isaiah 25:8)(ASV)-BibleGateway
"And the wolf shall dwell with the lamb,
and the leopard shall lie down with the kid;
and the calf and the young lion
and the fatling together;
and a little child shall lead them."
(Isaiah 11:6)(ASV)-BibleGateway
"Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth...
and I heard a loud voice from the throne saying,
"Now the dwelling of God is with men,
and he will live with them.
They will be his people,
and God himself will be with them
and be their God.
He will wipe every tear from their eyes.
There will be no more death
or mourning or crying or pain,
for the old conditions
and the former order of things
have passed away."
(Revelation 21:1-5)(AMP)-BibleGateway
"for there are new heavens and a new earth
that we are awaiting
according to his promise
and in these righteousness is to dwell."
(2Peter 3:13) -BibleGateway
"Happy are the meek
since they shall inherit the earth."
(Matthew 5:5)
"Thus saith the Lord Jehovah
unto these bones:
Behold, I will cause breath
to enter into you,
and ye shall live.
And I will lay sinews upon you,
and will bring up flesh upon you,
and cover you with skin,
and put breath in you,
and ye shall live;
and ye shall know that I am Jehovah."
(Ezekiel 37:3-6) (ASV) -BibleGateway
"Your dead will live;
Their corpses will rise.
You who lie in the dust,
awake and shout for joy,
For your dew is
as the dew of the dawn,
And the earth will give birth
to the departed spirits
. "
(Isaiah 26:19) (NASB) -BibleGateway
"Thus saith the Lord Jehovah:
Behold, I will open your graves,
and cause you to come up out of your graves,
O my people;
and I will bring you into the land ...
And ye shall know that I am Jehovah,
when I have opened your graves,
and caused you to come up
out of your graves,
O my people.
And I will put my Spirit in you,
and ye shall live,
and I will place you in your own land:
and ye shall know that I, Jehovah,
have spoken it and performed it,
saith Jehovah."
THE  VERY  FIRST  LIE  !
( immortality  of  the  human  soul )
FALSE RELIGION BEGAN WITH A SNAKE AND A TREE AND SATAN STILL USES TREES TODAY
"YOU  SURELY  WILL  NOT  DIE  "
the  FIRST  LIE  --  Genesis 3:14,
"Ye shall not surely die."  -  is Satan's masterpiece of deception
which has caused most to believe that we possess immortal souls --
IMMORTALITY OF THE HUMAN SOUL -
WAS THE FIRST LIE TOLD BY SATAN
"You will NOT surely die,"
the serpent said to the woman."
(Genesis 3:4)(NIV)-BibleGateway
"The serpent told the Woman,
' You won't die.
God knows that the moment
you eat from that tree,
you'll see what's really going on.
You'll be just like God, knowing everything...' "
(Genesis 3:4,5)(MSG)-BibleGateway
Death was the punishment for disobeying God -
"And Jehovah God commanded the man, saying,
Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil,
thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that
thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die."
(Genesis 2:16,17)(ASV)-BibleGateway
yet, Satan in his rebellion against Jehovah - told Eve a lie -
that if she disobeyed God - rather than dying -
she would become like
God
and live forever - and have  " IMMORTALITY "
The Bible is quite clear that only God "hath immortality." (1.Tim. 6:16).
Satan said through his medium the serpent:
"Ye shall not surely die."
However, God said through his prophet Ezekiel:
"The soul that sinneth, it shall die." Ezekiel 18:20.
 All people in the world have sinned and therefore
are subject to death.
Instead of proclaiming what God said,
many churches today proclaim Satan's doctrine of the immortality of the soul.
"THE  SOUL THAT  SINNETH,  IT  SHALL  DIE..."
-  Ezekiel 18:20 (KJV)
"Through the two great errors,
the immortality of the soul
and Sunday sacredness,
Satan will bring the people under his deceptions"
-Ellen White; (Great Controversy, p. 588).
"According to a recent Gallup Poll, 71 per cent of Americans
believe in conscious afterlife..... The outcome is that
the vast majority of people have come to believe Satan's lie
that no matter what they do, they "shall not die" (Gen 3:4) -
but become like gods by living for ever."
- Samuele Bacchiocchi, Ph. D.
Retired Professor of Theology, Andrews University
The doctrine of the immortality of the soul
is a false doctrine of satanic origins.
It attempts to replace the Biblical doctrine
of the mortal life of man that ends in death (the opposite of life)
to a condition of immortality.
Immortality of the human soul is at opposites with the
resurrection
.  If humans are immortal - they do not need
a resurrection.    Yet Jesus preached
"A Resurrection" -
upon his return to the earth.   Yes, Christ was in total agreement
with the prophets - who also foretold an
"Earthly Resurrection".
"I know that he will rise again
in the resurrection on the last day."
(John 11:24)(NASB)-BibleGateway
"Don't be surprised! The time will come when
all of the dead will hear the voice of the Son of Man,
and they will come out of their graves. "
(John 5:28) (CEV) -BibleGateway
" then his flesh is renewed like a child's;
it is restored as in the days of his youth"
(Job 33:25)(NIV)-BibleGateway
"Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake.."
(Daniel 12:2)(NIV)-BibleGateway
"Thus saith the Lord Jehovah unto these bones :
Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live.
And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you,
and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live;
and ye shall know that I am Jehovah."
(Ezekiel 37:3-6) (ASV) -BibleGateway
Even The Apostles preached an "EARTHLY  RESURRECTION"
"... If there's no chance of resurrection for a corpse,
if God's power stops at the cemetery gates,
why do we keep doing things that suggest
he's going to clean the place out someday,
pulling everyone up on their feet alive?"
(1Corinthians 15:29) (MSG) -BibleGateway
"...the breath of life from God came into them,
and they stood on their feet ;
and great fear fell upon those who were watching them. "
(Revelation 11:11) (NASB) -BibleGateway
Both the Prophets and Jesus revealed that the dead
are unconscious - sleeping - waiting for Christ's return
to resurrect them from the dead.
"Jesus answered...
'Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep;
but I am going there to wake him up."
His disciples replied,
'Lord, if he sleeps, he will get better.'
Jesus had been speaking of his death,
but his disciples thought
he meant natural sleep."
(John 11:9-13) (NIV)-BibleGateway
"The dead praise not the Lord,
neither any that go down into silence;"
for when a man dies,
"His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth;
in that very day his thoughts perish."
(Ps. 115:17; 146:4).
"For the living know that they shall die:
but the dead know not anything ....
Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might;
for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom,
in the grave,  whither thou goest."
(Ecclesiastes 9: 5 and 10)
"The living at least know they will die,
but the dead know nothing...."
(Ecclesiastes 9:5)(NLT)-BibleGateway
"There is nothing in the words translated  ' soul ' or in their usage
in the Bible that even remotely implies a conscious entity that survives
the body after death,  or that attributes immortality to it.
Nephesh (the soul)  is not part of the person;  it is the person ! "
- (Bible Dictionary by Siegfried H. Horn, Ph.D., p. 1061).
"And Jehovah God formed man
of the dust of the ground,
and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life;
and man became a living soul.
(Genesis 2:7)(ASV)-BibleGateway
"So also it is written, The first man Adam
became a living soul..."
(1Corinthians 15:45)(ASV)-BibleGateway
"And Jehovah God formed the man, of the dust from the ground,
and breathed into his nostrils breath of life;
and man became a living soul." [Gen 2:7]
This First Lie of in immortal soul thus spread around the earth -
from ancient Babylon onward and became a
doctrine of all pagan religions.
"immortality, we have seen, engaged the serious
attention of the Babylonian theologians. . . .
Death was a passage to another kind of life."
- [The Religion of Babylonia and Assyria (Boston, 1898),
         M. Jastrow, Jr., page 556]
Pagans followed Satan's lie
"...Our soul is immortal, and has judges, and
pays the utmost penalties whenever a man is rid of the body."
[Plato, 7th letter, 335a]
"Beautiful indeed is the Mystery given us by the blessed gods:
death is for mortals no longer an evil, but a blessing."
[Inscription found at Eleusis]
"It was probably under Greek influence that the doctrine
of the immortality of the soul came into Judaism. ...
Basically the two beliefs of resurrection and the soul's immortality
are contradictory
. The one refers to a collective resurrection
at the end of the days, i.e., that the dead sleeping in the earth will arise
from the grave, while the other refers to the state of the soul after
the death of the body. ... It was held that when the individual died
his soul still lived on in another realm - this gave rise to all the beliefs
regarding heaven and hell - while his body lay in the grave
to await the physical resurrection of all the dead here on earth."
- Encyclopaedia Judaica
"The idea of the inherent indestructibility of the human soul
owes its origin to Greek, not Bible sources.
The central theme of the New Testament is eternal life,
NOT for everybody and anybody,
but for believers in Christ as risen from the dead."
- 1943; the Church of England
"Many who professed conversion
still clung to the tenets of their pagan philosophy,
and not only continued its study themselves,
but urged it upon others as a means of extending
their influence among the heathen.
Serious errors were thus introduced into the Christian faith.
Prominent among these was the belief
in man's natural immortality
and his consciousness in death."
-E. G. White, The Great Controversy, p. 58.
William Tyndale, English reformer and Bible translator,
openly opposed the papal doctrine
of the immortality of the human soul -
calling it a heathen and pagan doctrine :
"And ye - papacy - in putting them -souls- in heaven,
hell, and purgatory, destroy the arguments wherewith
Christ and Paul prove the resurrection. . . .
The true faith putteth the resurrection,
which we be warned to look for every hour.
The heathen philosophers, denying that,
did put that the soul did ever live.
And the pope joineth the spiritual doctrine of Christ
and the fleshly doctrine of philosophers together;
things so contrary that they cannot agree...
And because the fleshly minded pope
consenteth unto heathen doctrine,
therefore he corrupteth the scripture to stablish it. . . .
And again, if the souls be in heaven...tell me...
then what cause is there of the resurrection?"
- William Tyndale, English reformer and Bible translator,
  An Answer to Sir Thomas More's Dialogue,
  Book 4, Chapter 2
A noted Wesleyan scholar, J.A. Beeth, after a wide study on the subject,
summarized the issue aptly:
"The phrase, the soul immortal,
so frequent and conspicuous in the writings of Plato,
we have not found in pre-Christian literature
outside the influence of Greek philosophy;
nor have we found it in Christian literature
until the latter part of the second century.
We have noticed that all the earliest Christian writers
who use this phrase - were familiar with the teaching of Plato;
that one of these, Tertullian, expressly refers both the phrase
and doctrine to him;  and that the early Christian writers
never support this doctrine by appeals to the Bible,
but only by arguments similar to those of Plato. . . .
We have failed to find any trace of this doctrine in the Bible. . . .
It is altogether alien, both in phrase and thought,
to the teaching of Christ and His apostles."
- A noted Wesleyan scholar,  J.A. Beeth
   Immortality of the Soul,  pp. 53,54
"While in pagan religions, salvation was often conceived of
as a human ascension toward God,
in Biblical faith, salvation is realized through a divine descent
toward mankind.   In other words, the Christian hope rests not
on an inherent capacity of disembodied souls to go up to God
but on God's revelation of His willingness to come down to our planet
to restore our world to its original perfection."
-Samuele Bacchiocchi, Ph. D.
Retired Professor of Theology, Andrews University
"The belief in immediate transit of individual souls after death
to a state of perfect blessedness (heaven),
or to a state of continuous punishment (hell),
or to an intermediate state of purification (purgatory)
has greatly weakened the expectation of Christ's Coming."
-Samuele Bacchiocchi, Ph. D.
